He Used The Word Gallantly, Correctly!
Alex saw this picture and caption on a news web-site today and asked me what it was. I told him it was a picture of a bacteria called E-Coli and that they had found it in some of the onions at Taco Bell restaurants on the east coast. He asked if E-Coli were dangerous. I told him most of the time people just get really sick.
He said he was no longer going to eat at Taco Bell. That they would probably go out of business because of this. And finally he told me this:

Dear Patty Griffin:
Your Friend,
S
Many of you have heard me say this before but if you don't mind, I am going to say it again. I am absolutely in love with Patty Griffin’s music. I discovered her almost two year's ago and am so glad I did. Every time I listen to one of her songs, I feel like someone just gave me a present. If I had to choose only one artist to listen to for the rest of my life it would be her. If you have a chance, please check her out.
Current Patty songs on my iPod:
Nobody’s Crying
Dear Old Friend
When It Don’t Come Easy
Forgiveness
Let Him Fly
Top Of The World
Long Ride Home
Be Careful
Rain
If you don't beleive me, have a look at what others who have purchased her music on iTunes have had to say:
About Patty Griffin’s album 1000 Kisses:
"I recently got an iPod and stumbled upon Patty. I downloaded this album. By the time I was in the middle of the third song I had purchased all of her CD’s. I couldn’t stop listening to her that night and still can’t, after several months. She is simply one of the greatest talents I have ever heard. Fantastic songwriter (she was #19 on the NPR greatest living songwriters after only 3 studio albums, how is that possible?) and a voice that has a certain quality to it that you literally hear once in a lifetime. I’m not talking about range, etc. she just brings you deeply into the world’s of her characters. Emotionally involved. The only singer I can even remember hearing who did that as well as Patty was Billy Holiday. Do you think I love her? At first listen."
"Patty Griffin has an innate ability to pour the essence of “The Common Man/Woman”…the pain, the joy, the doubt, the hopes, the fears, the endurance, the uncertainty…into her songs. She simply IS folk music, and this album is a perfect demonstration of that."
About Patty Griffin’s album Impossible Dreams:
"This record is a little masterpiece that can make you ache in the loveliest way imaginable. Patty Griffin brings you with her to unexpected, dark, quiet places in her songs. She writes lyrics and melodies that you can’t imagine never existed before she wrote them. Many artists cover them but only she can do them justice."
"The amazing thing about music, if done well, is it speaks to your soul. Let me tell you, this album speaks volumes. Each song is haunting—moving, artistic lyrics—perfectly matched instrumentation and rhythms—and powerful beautifully executed vocals."
"If I lived a hundred lifetimes, I could never create anything so poignant and beautiful as this album. Patty Griffin has woven a tapestry of rich, wonderfully textured, yet simple music. It is a deeply personal and almost unbearably intimate experience to listen to her so artfully and honestly pour out her soul. This is an album to listen to when you’re driving in your car, alone at night, or playing through your iPod as you lie in your bed."
If you take the time to listen to her music, I would love to hear what you think.

Do Bloggers Give Autographs?
My good friend Andy has agreed to check my spelling and grammar since he found two, yes two spelling errors on my site today. One of which included my sentence asking readers to "please forgive my spelling and my grammer" (grammar).
This is all happening so quickly.
How do I plan to celebrate?
I might go bowling and then grab a yogurt.

"How do the Seahawks have 19 points?"
"They scored three field goals, a touchdown, and another field goal."

"Why didn't you just say they scored four field goals and a touchdown?"
"Because that's not the order it happened."

Girl (NOT) Interrupted
Would it be too harsh if I said this:
I know you like Winona Ryder (circa 1990’s) and all but that girl is no Winona Ryder!
Sorry, somebody has got to do it.

Underwear Optional
Here is a look at what each of us has chosen. Laura, if you would like to borrow any or all of these lovely pieces, you know how to reach us. Nothing says "you made the right decision in hiring me" better than an awesome sweater dress.
April, the v-neck is great but I have to say, the boots might be even better. Who else could pull off blue boots? Great choice!
This is the one I chose. It just made sense. I already had the boots and scarf. Plus, if it looks good on her, it will look good on me. She could be my sister!
Michelle found THE perfect dress for her sense of style. You have to be willing to take a risk with a sweater dress but Michelle found a way to do it with class.
Angie, what can I say? Low-carb has really paid off. You look flawless in this dress. Not many people can pull off horizontal!
Last but not least, Tiffany. Everyone knows that green has always been your color. Although, I had my doubts about the cut-out neck. I have to say, you should always go with the cut-out neck (if it is an option).
Laura, we will really miss seeing you every day. Best of luck with the new job.
Let me know if you want me to wear my dress to the next movie night.
